Cultural life in Rotterdam

The Wilhelminapier inspires people of all ages and nationalities. Photography and visual arts play an important role. Las Palmas

Las Palmas is the cultural heart of the Wilhelminapier. This is the national Dutch centre for photography, visual culture, and digital media. The Nederlands Fotomuseum presents a collection of four million negatives, spanning all of 80 years of the Netherlands’ history of photography. The Beeldfabriek provides photography workshops and courses, and LP II organizes exhibitions in the area of urban culture.

Entertainment in Rotterdam

The offer of cultural entertainment at the pier is growing at a rapid pace. The beautiful New Luxor Theatre has presented large-scale theatre productions since 2001, featuring artists from all over the globe. In 2010, Filmhuis Lantaren/Venster (Cinema Club Lantaren/Venster) will open its doors in the basement of New Orleans, and also the future building Chicago will offer entertainment. This remarkable centre of the pier will provide conference facilities, restaurants and night spots. In brief: the Wilhelminapier is a cultural magnet.
